Vulnerability / research
Counterfeit-policy research steers Jev security judgments
Reported
What happened
Datadog showed that attacker-controlled policy-like text could steer Jev's classifications and lower the assessed risk of an unauthorized tool call in a simulated LangChain integration.
Parties and reporting
AI tools and systems: TypeSafe AI Jev, LangChain tool-risk gating
Outcome
The simulated call's mean risk score fell below the blocking threshold. No production compromise or remediation was established; TypeSafe already documented susceptibility to adversarial content.
Operating lesson
Enforce permissions in code independently of model risk scores; test classifiers with adversarial content from every untrusted field.
Evidence and limits
Research demonstration, not observed malicious activity. The report evaluates classification and a simulated authorization scenario; it does not establish an actual unauthorized document change. October 15 dates this specific demonstration.
